“See, I am doing a new thing.  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43: v19

We have all been through challenging times recently and depending on where we are, those changes have impacted us to a greater or lesser extent depending on our circumstances.

HANNAH has also been through a time of change. In February the children moved to smaller facilities. Then in March the institution was closed due to covid-19. This has apparently happened in many places throughout Eastern Europe, to free institutions up for possible covid -19 patients, and for staff needed elsewhere.

However, as one door closed (and we don’t know how long for), another one immediately opened for us. Ilona made phone contact with the families of these children during Romania’s lock-down and afterwards regularly visited them to see how they were getting on and what help we could offer them.

It has always been the desire of HANNAH to have access to the families of the children, to offer to work alongside them to help them to be able to care for their children. God has now given us this opportunity, which we are grateful for and pray that we will be a real blessing to the children and their families and together make a big difference in their lives for a more positive future.

In most cases there were a number of siblings at the institution with others still at home. With up to seven children in a family, and at least 5 families this means that we can be helping 30-35 children at any one time.

God is good!

There are opportunities for you to support this work through –

Prayer:  Please remember HANNAH in your prayers. It is only through God’s grace that we can do this work of bringing hope to families. If you would like to be part of the HANNAH prayer team which takes on the responsibility to prayer regularly for the work of HANNAH, please let us know.

Promotion/Fundraising: We would like to let more people know about HANNAH.  If promotion and/or fundraising is what you like doing, please contact us. Details on the website ‘Contact’ page.

Finances: There will be more travel and costs involved in this project as well as ongoing salary costs and in February 2021 Kati will be re-joining HANNAH as social worker after 2 years on maternity leave. If you are able to give financially, even in these uncertain times, that would also be a wonderful blessing. Details on the website ‘Donate’ page.
